Mercy Killing Ch. 18 Back outside in the cavernous halls, I walk down the narrow hallway that leads to a small, cool chamber where two other halls meet, one of them the same size as the tunnel I just exited, the other twice as large. There are a few benches in the middle of the floor, and cubbies covering all the walls. In each cubby is a pair of sandals, each a different size, thought they all look alike. The sizes of each pair of shoes it scribbled across the top of the cubby in elegant script. A few vampires are here, trying on sandals, finding the pair that fits them.
